Phase 1 Foundation Stage
This is the base level of courses once a candidate has these courses completed then this can count as progression towards a level 2 qualification. Standard Operations - A standard operation employs the best method currently available of performing a specific task, so that the right levels of quality, cost, delivery and safety can consistently be achieved. This course gives you a good solid grounding in the principles and application of standardisation, a good basis on which to build further understanding and skills.
5s - is a technique adapted from the Japanese. The basic idea is very simple - keeping everything clean and orderly will increase efficiency and boost morale, with significant improvement in the safety of your work environment and a consistently higher quality of product or service.
Kaizen - involves everyone in the company, from management to shop floor, in a cycle of continuous evaluation and improvement. The course provides an invaluable insight into why it is vital to increase productivity and make continuous improvements, how Kaizen helps a business achieve goals and how to start applying the Kaizen principles in your own working environment.
Skill Control - is an important tool for measuring and managing the skills that people have and relating them to the job or task in hand. It involves measuring the level of a person’s capability to carry out a task and monitoring their performance as they gain experience or receive training so improvements can be tracked and recorded.
7 Tools for Continuous Improvement - introduces you to the basic principles and explains where, when and how they are generally used in industry, it teaches you the basics of frequency distribution and the concept of variation - and the importance of controlling or removing it.
Phase 2
These courses are also suitable for every level of employee and also count as approved prior learning towards qualification. Phase 2 can be the final level for the workforce based in the factory prior to moving onto a full level 2 qualification. Alternatively if a worker has a level 2 qualification then overlaying these skills can prove to be beneficial.
