CILT Membership

Students on CILT courses are required to register as an Affiliate Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. You will then benefit from all membership services: the Institute's monthly journal Logistics & Transport Focus; reference and lending libraries; careers advice; the CILT national Conference and Exhibition; UK Branch activities and networking; lectures; seminars; company visits; surveys and publications. An CILT membership application form will be sent to you when you have enrolled with DLC.

CILT qualifications can eventually lead to full CILT membership giving you the ability to display the letters MILT after your name as a mark of achievement. Once you can demonstrate that you have both the necessary experience and academic achievement you will qualify for this prestigious lettering. Any of the CILT courses start your journey towards full membership.

CILT Course Assessment

CILT level 2 and 3 courses are assessed by examination, and level 4 and advanced diploma courses are assessed through a combination of exams and assignments. The in-company examination scheme means that a candidate can take exams at his or her place of employment with a nominated person (for example, a personnel or a training manager) to take charge of the exam. Alternatively exams are available in London, Corby and The North of England. Overseas exams are available via Durham Logistics College International School in partnership with the British Council.
